I’m not exaggerating but it took 7 pages for 1 track. Drama CD (Real drama cd, not the monologue talk CD) is so overwhelming, since there is more than 1 people talking. Today is one of my favorite Anime, Yowamushi Pedal. So I change it with Anime based drama CD. Yahhoo~ In this July, I will not posting R18 CD at all.
I mean, this is my first time translating historical drama CD~ It’s EXTREMELY hard. Hello~ This is my first time to translate Bakumatsu-themed drama CD. The most bracing moment, though, comes a minute or so into the live take of 'Sweet Mama Janisse' when the band kicks in with a tight, thumping foundation for Mahal's commanding singing voice. That musical instinct is all over these tracks, even if some of the jams – 'I Pity the Poor Immigrant' and 'Shady Grove' in particular – run long enough that you can see why they ended up unreleased.
The set starts with Mahal alone, transfixing both audience (then) and listener (now) with an a capella 'Runnin' by the Riverside' and the acoustic blues of 'John, Ain't It Hard'. But that idea of feeling music, of the way sound becomes emotion, is all over the second disc, an essential live recording that captures a set from 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
